The IRS now mandates that employers with an aggregate of 10 or more of certain types of returns (including W-2’s and 1099’s) e-file those forms.
Those affected should:
- Apply for a FIRE TCC code to e-file 1099’s.
- Register with BSO to e-file W2’s.
- Create an IRS FIRE account.
- Renew your CFS W2/1099 program.
- Purchase the CFS e-file add-on.
- Re-evaluate your need for paper forms.
- Review state W-2 and 1099 e-filing requirements.
Do not wait until the last minute to comply with these major changes.
